I was lazily dreaming on a patio chair by the pool one beautiful January afternoon when I sensed a partial darkening of the sky behind my closed eyelids. When I opened my eyes, I saw these lovely cloud formations, backlit by the sun, rising above the roof of the house. A large, graceful coconut palm was soaring up to meet the clouds, and was silhouetted overhead right above me. I couldn't resist running into the house to get my camera to capture the scene quickly on film. I painted this picture a few days later.
