One of the most picturesque sites on the Bonnet House acreage in Fort Lauderdale is the bridge across the main lagoon a Seminole chickee with palmthatched roof and open sides. This is how the Seminoles wisely lived in the Everglades years ago high off the ground to avoid flooding, open sides to catch the breeze on sultry days. The bridge and its reflections always make an inviting stop for visitors to the house. This is my second painting of the bridge. The many angles from which to view it are all intriguing, so it probably won't be my last either. This painting was accepted into Bonnet House's 2006 juried exhibition, Impressions of Old South Florida.
