The central courtyard at Ft. Lauderdale's Bonnet House exudes the very essence of the estate's ample grace and peace. On a warm, sunny mid–winter day, the long shadows of the sabal palms and the soft gurgle of its centerpiece stone fountain beckon the visitor to a moment's pause – just as they must have done for the Bartletts or their staff so many years ago as they crossed this lovely oasis on some household errand or quest.
