The sea grape is a wonderful, native Florida tree that usually grows near the water. Like trees up north, its large leaves turn wonderful shades of gold, brown and even red before falling off and littering the landscape with giant splashes of color. This stand of sea grapes was especially appealing to my artist's eye because they surround another common sight along those few remaining undeveloped parts of Florida's coast a fallen, dying tree, no doubt taken down by the winds or waves of a major storm.
