The Ochopee post office bills itself as the nation's smallest. It sits out in the open along the side of Tamiami Trail deep in South Florida's Everglades. Passing tourists often mail something here in order to capture its post mark. I didn't have anything to mail, so I took a picture that I could paint. If it weren't for the sign on the ground — most likely blown off the roof during a recent hurricane — one might well mistake this tiny post office for a different kind of roadside convenience.
