A driver on the twisting, rising and falling Truro (Cape Cod) back road is repeatedly surprised by a suddenly open vista through the scrub pines, perhaps revealing a sprawling marsh, a half or threequarter Cape house nestled among the woods of a distant hill, maybe even a glimpse of the bay beyond. This strongly impressionistic yet somewhat primitive treatment captures just such a scene illuminated by the clarity and brilliance of the Outer Cape's sparkling summer sunlight.
