The view is almost iconic in Cape Cod's Wellfleet: looking uphill on Main Street toward the Congregational or Congo Church, as the locals call it. I think it's prettiest in the morning when the summer sun streams across the street to paint church and housefronts their most brilliant white, while casting the rest of them into delicate blue shadows. For me, it brings back more than 30 years' memories of Cape Cod summers and, gets me ready for yet another annual pilgrimage.
