The view is almost iconic in Cape Cod's Wellfleet: looking up–hill on Main Street toward the Congregational — or “Congo” — Church, as the locals call it. I think it's prettiest in the morning when the summer sun streams across the street to paint church– and house–fronts their most brilliant white, while casting the rest of them into delicate blue shadows. For me, it brings back more than 30 years' memories of Cape Cod summers — and, gets me ready for yet another annual pilgrimage.
