Everybody who goes to Cape Cod has a favorite beach. Ours is an essentially no–name strip lying beneath towering dunes north of Truro's Ballston Beach. The most exhilarating — though sometimes daunting — way of getting there is to hike along a network of wooded trails and old abandoned fire roads that passes this wondrously isolated house nestled amongst pines and scrub oaks at the edge of the dunes. This is one place where walking to and from the beach is as delightful as the beach itself.
