The Outer Cape offers beaches to suit just about every mood: crowded National Seashore Beaches when you want to ride the breakers and frolic with the summer vacationers; far–flug desolate stretches in front of towering dunes for that true "get–away–from–it–all" feeling; and — my favorite of all — the funky little bay–side town beach where the locals spend quiet afternoons chatting with their neighbors. Wellfleet's Powers Landing is just such a beach. And I've spent many a lazy summer's afternoon there soaking up the sun, visiting with friends, and just feeling good about being an adopted "townie."
