I thought this early-morning kayaker cut a colorful figure in Wellfleet's tidal Duck Creek. The color was enhanced, of course, by the old Lemon Pie cottages on the dune in the background and the multiple hues of the late-summer marsh grass in front of and behind him - plus, the rotting supports of the long demolished railroad trestle that long ago brought trains to town transporting both freight and our earliest summer visitors.
