Chartered by Paul Revere in 1797, the Wellfleet Masons now occupy Adams Lodge that rises elegantly on a hill above the equally historic intersection of Commercial and Bank Streets. Not only a place of important and reverence to local Masons, it's also the site of an outstanding lobster-roll feast cooked up and served by the Masons and accompanied by rollicking music and sing-alongs featuring a popular local band. Some of us think it just wouldn't seem like a summer Wednesday night in Wellfleet without the "lobster man" out front summoning folks to dinner. Plus, Wellfleet's rich architectural heritage would be so very much less without this beautiful Queen Anne structure gracing the center of the village and looking down through the trees toward Duck Creek.
