I have painted this charming Wellfleet cottage before, as have many artists. This time I painted it at the request of the owner - and with a decidedly different angle and approach. What gives this painting its strength, I believe, is the upward look which slightly distorts the shape of the cottage, but makes it exceptionally warm and appealing looking.
